Play by ear review

Okay so I have been learning play by ear for the past 2 months and here is what i think.
Play by ear is unlike the traditional method, it requires alot of practice (traditional you need a lot of practice too though)!!

I mean I don't know if I am rushing it too much or whether the teacher is not good enough but it is pretty hard to grasp now.
